5-star Google rated. £1 million public liability insurance. 12-month workmanship guarantee. 7 days a week, including evenings and bank holidays.
If you’ve got a flat pack box sitting in your hallway in Eastbourne and you’d rather not lose a weekend to allen keys and ambiguous instructions, Magic Flat Pack handles it. We’re a furniture assembly service covering Eastbourne, Polegate, Hailsham, Pevensey, Seaford, Bexhill, Hastings and the surrounding East Sussex area. IKEA wardrobes, Argos beds, garden rattan sets, BBQs, trampolines, gym equipment, office desks — we assemble it properly, level it, secure it, and take the rubbish if you’d like.
Most flat pack jobs come with one of two nasty surprises: an hourly assembler who slows down once the clock starts, or a quote that grows once they’re in your front room. We do neither. You send us photos or product links, we quote a fixed price for the job before we arrive, and that’s what you pay. No call-out charge.
For a rough idea of how we price: a chest of drawers or bookcase is a quick visit. A standard double wardrobe sits in the middle. A full IKEA PAX run with sliding doors and internal fittings is a longer job and priced accordingly. Send us the details and we’ll come back with an exact number, usually within the hour.
We assemble flat pack furniture from every major UK retailer — IKEA, Argos, Wayfair, John Lewis, Habitat, Next, Bensons for Beds, Made.com, Dunelm, B&Q and most independents. If it came in a box with an allen key, we can build it.
IKEA is what we do most. PAX wardrobes (hinged and sliding door) are our bread and butter — we know the quirks of the sliding door track system, the corner unit angles, and how to get drawer fronts to sit flush. We also regularly build MALM bedroom ranges, KALLAX storage, BESTÅ media units, BRIMNES, HEMNES, the lot. If you’ve ordered the home delivery and the boxes are stacked in the spare room, we’ll take it from there.
Wardrobes are the job people most often give up on halfway through, and the one we get called in to rescue most often. Sliding doors that won’t sit parallel, hinged doors that catch on the frame, drawers that won’t run smoothly — usually an alignment issue from one panel going in slightly off-square early on. We assemble sliding, hinged, corner, walk-in and modular wardrobe systems, and we anchor them to the wall properly so the whole thing doesn’t tip when a child opens a drawer.
Ottoman beds and storage beds are where we earn our money — gas struts, fabric panels, heavy bases. We also build divans, wooden frames, metal frames, bunk beds, children’s beds and cabin beds. A properly assembled bed shouldn’t creak, wobble, or shed screws six months in.
Home offices, small business fit-outs, and landlord properties going onto Airbnb. Desks, ergonomic chairs, filing cabinets, bookcases, shelving systems and reception furniture. If you’re kitting out a new office in central Eastbourne or along Terminus Road, we can do a full installation in a single visit.
Rattan dining sets, corner sofas, parasols, pergolas, garden storage, plastic and metal sheds, dual-fuel BBQs with side burners, pizza ovens. Garden assembly often involves heavy lifting in awkward spaces — we’ve got the tools and the second pair of hands.
Multi-gyms, power racks, treadmills, rowers, weight benches. Garage and home gym setups need correct torque on the bolts and proper anchoring — getting this wrong with loaded equipment is genuinely dangerous, so it’s worth a professional.
Cots, cot beds, changing tables, nursery wardrobes, toy storage. We anchor everything that needs anchoring and double-check the safety-critical fixings.
If you’ve bought a garden trampoline or wooden climbing frame and looked at the instructions with mild horror, you’re not alone. These are big, fiddly, two-person jobs and we do them regularly.
Eastbourne (all postcodes — BN20, BN21, BN22, BN23), plus Polegate, Hailsham, Pevensey, Pevensey Bay, Westham, Stone Cross, Willingdon, Friston, East Dean, Seaford, Newhaven, Lewes, Bexhill-on-Sea, St Leonards, Hastings and the surrounding villages.
We work across Sussex generally — our full coverage area runs from Chichester in the west through Brighton and Hove to Hastings in the east. The Eastbourne side is well-served and we don’t add travel charges within East Sussex.
We’ve been assembling flat pack furniture across Sussex for years and the page on Google will show you our 5-star rating from real customers. A few things that genuinely matter:
Insurance. £1 million public liability. If something goes wrong in your home — and in this line of work, the only things that can really go wrong are scratched floors or marked walls — you’re covered. Anyone working in your house without this is a risk you shouldn’t take.
12-month workmanship guarantee. If a drawer we fitted stops running or a hinge we installed comes loose within a year, we come back and fix it. Most of our competition won’t put that in writing.
Seven days a week. Evenings, weekends, bank holidays. We know most people can’t take a weekday off to wait for a furniture assembler.
Same-day and next-day appointments are usually available, especially if you message us early in the day. Urgent jobs — moving house, Airbnb changeover, kids’ beds that need to be ready by bedtime — we’ll prioritise.
Landlords and property managers: we work with several letting agents and Airbnb hosts in Eastbourne and can do whole-property fit-outs in a single day. Invoice on completion, photos sent on request.
We quote a fixed price per job rather than charging by the hour, which means no surprises. A small bookcase or chest of drawers is a quick visit; a full PAX wardrobe with sliding doors and internal fittings is a longer job. Send us the product details and your postcode and we’ll come back with an exact price — typically within an hour.
Yes — IKEA is the brand we assemble most. PAX wardrobes (sliding and hinged), MALM, KALLAX, BESTÅ, BRIMNES, HEMNES, NORDLI, all of it. We’re familiar with the IKEA fitting systems, the common alignment issues, and the wall-anchoring requirements for tall units.
