Terms and conditions

These terms apply when you book Magic Flat Pack. We’ve kept them short and in plain English. Nothing here affects your legal rights as a consumer.

1. Who we are

Magic Flat Pack is a sole trader based in Brighton, assembling flat pack furniture across Sussex. Phone and WhatsApp: 07709 775177. Email: info@magicflatpack.com.

2. Prices and booking

• Every item is priced before we start and agreed by WhatsApp or email. The price doesn’t change if the build takes longer.
• The minimum charge is £75 per visit. There’s no call-out fee.
• No travel charge within East Sussex. Outside East Sussex, travel is added to your quote before you book.
• If you add items on the day, we’ll agree their price before we build them.

3. Payment

Most customers pay after the job, by bank transfer or cash. For bigger jobs and business bookings we may ask for a deposit when you book, and we’ll tell you the amount before you confirm.

4. Changing or cancelling

• You can change or cancel for free with at least 24 hours’ notice.
• With less than 24 hours’ notice there’s a fee: £35 for jobs under £200, or £70 for jobs of £200 or more. This covers the slot we kept free for you.

5. If we can’t finish on the day

If we can’t complete the job because parts are missing or damaged, the wrong item was delivered, or there isn’t enough space or access, we’ll build what we can. The same fee as a late cancellation may apply for the wasted part of the visit, and we’ll agree the price of any return visit with you first.

6. Before we arrive

• Clear some floor space where the furniture will be built and put the boxes in or near that room.
• Tell us about parking, stairs or anything that makes access difficult.
• We don’t take packaging away. It’s left flattened for your recycling.

7. Our 12-month guarantee

Our workmanship is guaranteed for 12 months. If something we built comes loose or stops working properly because of how we assembled it, we’ll come back and put it right free of charge. The guarantee doesn’t cover faulty or missing parts from the manufacturer (the retailer handles those), furniture that has been moved or taken apart since we built it, or wear and misuse. Send us photos by WhatsApp or email as soon as you notice a problem.

8. Insurance

We carry £1 million public liability insurance. If anything is damaged while we’re working, please tell us as soon as possible, with photos, so we can sort it out.
